The weekend

Two nights, nothing to plan.

You arrive on Friday afternoon, we collect you from the valley station, and for two days the only decisions are when to sleep and how long to stay in the sauna. Meals, walks and the transfer are part of the price.

Free cancellation up to 21 days before arrival. Adults only.

  • Two nights

In a larch room, or a stone hut with its own stove.

  • Every meal

Two breakfasts, two dinners at the long table and a packed lunch, cooked over wood.

  • Sauna and stream

A wood-fired sauna beside a cold mountain stream, open from 7 am to 10 pm.

  • Two guided walks

An easy larch circuit, and the sunrise walk to the ridge at 2,040 m.

  • The transfer

From the valley station and back, 40 minutes each way.

  • No Wi-Fi in the rooms

There's a phone shelf by the door, and signal in the lodge if you need it.

Inside a wooden barrel sauna: a wood-fired stove glowing beneath its chimney, slatted benches and a round window onto birch trees.
The sauna, then the stream. The water stays around 6 °C all year.
Hands passing plates of food across a candlelit wooden table with glasses of wine.
Dinner at the long table. One menu, cooked over wood, for whoever's here.

      Check dates

      Before you book

      Is this weekend for you?

      Yes, if you want

      • Quiet, early nights and a slow morning
      • Walks of two to four hours on mountain paths
      • Cold water after the sauna
      • Good food without choosing from a menu

      Maybe not, if you need

      • Wi-Fi in your room to work
      • Step-free paths: the site is steep and gravelled
      • Late nights or a bar
      • To bring children (weekends are adults only)
      What's the cancellation policy?

Cancel up to 21 days before arrival and your 30% deposit comes back in full. Inside 21 days the deposit is kept, but you can move to another weekend once at no cost.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. A room for one person costs €180 more for the weekend, and the long table at dinner is a good place to arrive alone.

How fit do I need to be?

If you can walk uphill for an hour at your own pace, you'll enjoy the sunrise walk. It's optional, and so is everything else.

Do you cook for allergies and diets?

Yes. Tell us when you book; vegetarian is the default at Friday dinner anyway.

      What should I bring?

Walking shoes, a warm layer, a swimsuit for the sauna and a head torch if you have one. Robes, towels and flasks are here.

      Can I stay longer?

Sunday night is often free. Ask on WhatsApp and we'll tell you the price for your dates.

Golden larches on an autumn meadow, one leaning low over the path, a rocky mountain half hidden in cloud behind.

The larches turn gold for about three weeks.
